Replacement & installation

A new system should feel like a new house. Most just feel like a new bill.

We size it with a load calculation, not a glance at the old unit’s sticker. Then we install it like the warranty depends on it — because it does.

Know the signs

When replacing beats repairing

01

Fifteen birthdays or more

South Texas systems work twice the hours of northern ones. Past fifteen years, most are living on borrowed capacitors.

02

R-22 in the lines

The refrigerant was phased out years ago. What remains is scarce, priced accordingly, and a strong hint about the system’s age.

03

A repair every summer

When the repair bills start arriving like a subscription, the money is better spent on something that doesn’t need them.

04

Rooms that never agree

Hot upstairs, cold downstairs, a back bedroom with its own weather. That is usually ductwork and sizing — both fixable during a replacement.

05

The math stopped working

A modern two-stage system can use a third less electricity than a tired single-stage one. On a San Antonio bill, that is real money every month.

The calendar shows today’s real openings.

What happens on the visit

Four steps. No mysteries.

  1. 1

    A free in-home estimate

A room-by-room load calculation, a duct inspection, and a look at the electrical. About an hour. No pressure, no “today-only” price.

  2. 2

    Three written options

Good, better, best — exact prices, efficiency, warranty, and monthly payments side by side. Pick one, or pick none and keep the paper.

  3. 3

    Installed in a day

Most change-outs finish in one visit: drop cloths down, old system hauled away, new one set, wired, and brazed by our own installers.

  4. 4

    Commissioned, not just switched on

We measure static pressure, charge by weight and superheat, set up the thermostat, and register the warranty in your name before we leave.

Bigger is not better. Bigger is louder, wetter, and more expensive.

The most common mistake in residential air conditioning is a system too large for the house. It cools the air fast, shuts off before it has wrung out the humidity, and leaves you in a room that is cold and clammy at the same time, like a cave with a mortgage.

Oversizing happens because it is easy. The installer reads the old unit’s tonnage, adds half a ton for safety, and calls it engineering. The safety is all his: nobody ever complained that a system was too big. They just complained that the house never felt right.

We do the arithmetic instead — square footage, windows, insulation, which way the house faces, how many people live in it. It takes an hour. It is the most profitable hour you will spend on the whole project, and it is free.

FAQ

AC Replacement: questions, answered

Didn’t see yours? Bea answers in seconds, day or night — and knows the price list by heart.

A straight change-out usually takes one day. Projects that move the equipment, add ductwork, or convert to a heat pump can run into a second day. Your written estimate says which.

Not always. If the furnace is young and compatible, we can match a new outdoor unit and coil to it. If it is the same age as the AC, replacing both together saves a second labor bill later.

New systems now ship with A2L refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32. They are rated mildly flammable and are installed to updated code with leak detection where required. Your existing R-410A system is fine to keep and repair.

Often. Local utility programs reward qualifying high-efficiency equipment, and manufacturers run seasonal promotions. Incentives change, so we quote the current ones on your estimate and handle the paperwork.

Ten-year parts from the manufacturer when registered, which we do for you, plus our own two-year labor warranty and the comfort guarantee. All three come in writing.
